*A[Relevant]Summer08Throwback*
Summer 2008 saw me grow as a person tremendously after spending that summer traveling, covering events all over the country, overseeing recording projects, and more…all while taking summer classes at UMD. But the part of that summer that I will never forget is the music that accompanied me on those journeys and helped me get through those classes….:::::the sounds of Nas’ Illmatic and It Was Written, Blu & Exile’s Below the Heavens & one of the more impressionable one’s ::: Wale’s classic “A Mixtape About Nothing”
[taking its origin from the hit 90’s sitcom, Seinfield ..this concept mixtape was better than most of the album’s that came out in 2008. below one of my favorite cuts - check it out]

The Grown Up - Wale
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
| They say love is slowest form of suicide
The fluid of my eye falling, while I do the rhyme
I try to be the guy, you think about,
everynight when yo eyelids cover I
Cause I’m on I’m[aim] rather than on us, maybe I’m on lust
well you deserve love
Baby just come close, let me play in yo hair
It’s been a half a year, I say we take it there |
**
“What you saying, ‘Not tonight’ ?….I can separate Love from Lust …I know it’s a Love thing. Its a real thing, so I can wait…
But when you make me wait for so long, you know..
I wonder how you feel…”
[understand what I’m sayin?]
**
I AM SO GREW UP, Grown man baby
“And there you have it.. you can have it if you wanna have it… I wanna make having it a habit [understand what I’m sayin?]”
“Said a Grown Man can separate lust from love.. I don’t think with the lower, I think with the upper.. If Ima love ya, Ima love ya”
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
** Can you respect treating a Grown Man aptly ladies?
