EVERY Kanye Sample EVER [808s & Heartbreak Edition]

I’ve heard most of these before but just to see em all put together…

And although a 5 star rated video on youtube…the comments speak volumes about how people feel about Kanye’s musical abilities[or lack thereof] / sampling tactics antics.

….I’ll hold my reservations for later but here are a couple of screen shots of comments the people made on this video.

…or are they?

I associate with a lot of producers and creative people alike and while they all agree on Kanye’s apparent impressive resume of furthering and transforming hip hop for our generation… they all share a similar sentiment over the “creativity” in his production, if you will…. after finding out how most of Kanye’s composition were  seemingly constructed simply using poorly chopped [meaning sample was just taken and not altered much; easier and less creative] style of production….

…Yea, simply put….they pretty much don’t see him as the musical genius they once thought him to be…

Ah, it doesn’t really matter what I think right? He’s made music that will last my generation a lifetime of music.. right?

He did actually know was familiar with or possessed most of this music to even give him the train of thought to sample it… Hell even sampling .03 seconds of song turning it into a whole masterpiece is impressive in itself…

I’ll just call it like I see it.. He just cleverly knew how to make big $$.lol

Naw but seriously… i think it is extremely less creative than I myself imagined it to be and with being around some talented people who’ve shown me the work and details behind arranging most of those compositions he himself sampled….. He def was able to able the easy way out…

But who the hell cares?

…the beats were cool, but the radical spirited college dropout polo wearing hungry muthafucker from Chicago did it for me!…the secret is in his crafty stories and messages.. not necessarily the canvas… but what was spewed on it..
